Awantipora, Oct 11 (KNO): In continuation of its ongoing drive against illegal mining, Police in Awantipora on Saturday said to have intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities in the Police district Awantipora and seized six tractors involved in illegal transportation of minerals.
A Police party led by SHO Police Station Tral under the supervision of SDPO Tral Rajesh Kumar seized six tractors from Nowdal area of Police Station Tral, involved in illegal transportation of minerals, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 125/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tral and further investigation has been initiated.
Meanwhile, the community members are earnestly appealed to extend their cooperation by sharing any information regarding such unlawful activities in their areas. “J&K Police assures complete confidentiality of the informants and reiterates its resolve to take strict legal action against those indulging in illegal mining,” the spokesman said—(KNO)
